Why adaptability and interpersonal skills are important to an IT professional?

Adaptability is a critical criterion for an IT Professional. Adaptability included long life learning and also continued professional development. The question here, why these factor are important to IT Professional? How should you adapt with your professional work? You need to be dynamic and flexible to deal with any circumstances in your workplace. In my point of view, IT Professional need to mould the sense of knowledgeable attitudes of constant learning and sensitive enough to identify the changes in job market. As we all know that world contains of 7billion of people, this mean the competition in a job market is extremely intense and it is only served to someone that really called as professional.

Due to that, the key to survive in this competition world is adaptability. As an IT Professional you need to be updated with new intervention, technology and walk one step ahead from others. You must occupy not only with specialized knowledge but also with soft skills knowledge. As we all know, IT Professional interact with many people including the employers, the clients, the suppliers, the other professional and so forth. So, interpersonal skills is essential to make you survive and to make you attain higher position level in that organization. In general, interpersonal skills included your personality awareness, communication skills, conflict management, trust building and collaboration.

People with strong interpersonal skills are usually more successful in both their professional and personal lives. They are perceived as more calm, confident and charismatic [Source: SkillsYouNeed.com]. In my point of view, interpersonal skills is the way your express yourself in a professional way and also included in personal lives. You know how to express yourself and you know what your best is at is the important to be an IT Professional. Know your skills, know your talent and get the job done!

Application Domain in Entertainment

Hello readers,

Today I wanna talk about Application Domains in Information Technology. There are seven main application domains:
       Bioinformatics and healthcare
       Business and Manufacturing applications
       E-commerce
       Government and law enforcement
       Education
       Entertainment
       Agriculture

Aside from these domains, there lot more hybrid application domain derived from this main domain. I want to share my view mainly about “Entertainment” Application Domain.  As we can see around us, the film making is advancing from black and white movie production to 3D, 4D and 5D movies. The process of making color films began as early as 1906, but wasn't perfected until the 1920s [Source: ehow.com]. These days, the viewer more likely to watch 3D movie that will be tricked to have a sense of true depth and feel that the objects in the 3D movie is extending out from the screen. While, 5D movie is more advance! The new technology combines physical and audio-visual effects with 3D presentation. As example, movie viewers will be jolted in seats that suddenly move and have water splashed in their faces. Wind and lightning effects will also be added to their viewing pleasure.

B/W Movie

This is how you will feel in 3D movie theater

Moviegoers will feel physical and visual impact in 5D!

This is some of that proves that human make sense of the technology to be creative! Technology serves the film production with benefits; they make use of technology to serve the viewer. This IT trends is aiming to entertain the viewer which I can say that is a good effort to make the people more entertained and happy in this busy world. We can say that IT is no more only about to help in decision making and problem solving, but it also enhance the creativity of people. To make entertainment to entertain people, it needs a talent, a talent which is more focus in using the right side of our brain. The right hemispheric is more focus on our creativity while our left hemispheric is focus on cognitive and analytical thinking.

Right and left brain hemispheric dominance

Those who naturally have left brain dominance thrive in our society and become the leaders and law makers. When it is their turn to lead the society, they in turn put emphasis on left brain dominant thinking. In my point of view, IT is not enhancing our life, but it also enhances our creativity skills. Entertainment domain is a good approach to use the maximum potential of both part of the brain. Some people do not know that they are creative until they reach the point in doing something that they like. As example, video editing needs creativity, photo editing needs creativity.

Hye all, wana know more about 3D and 5D movie entertainment, please click the link below. I would give such a wonderful credit to this website to give me fruitful information on this selected domain.

Internet Shoppe

Do you like shopping?  Yeah, no doubt most of the girls like shopping. Whoever you are; a girl, a woman, a daughter, you will have tendency to buy something new every month. Isn’t it? Why do we like shopping? I think that every girl in the world loves shopping; some can afford it, whilst others don’t, but even if it’s a very small item, it will make us happy.

You would spend your time to buy new shawl, clothing and even shoes.  Another good news for all of you, instead of going to shopping mall and check on in every boutique, now the shopping style has slightly changed! On this globalization, you can do shopping using just some taps on your laptop or Smartphone. Isn’t it cool? Shoppers used to open a boutique in shopping mall, that’s call traditional business. These days many traditional businesses have moved to digital firm.

"Previously, you see it in every shopping mall: men sitting outside the clothing store waiting for the wife to come out. But now the wife also can do shopping in the house. Isn’t it good news for the men also?"

Technology has gifted creative idea to the people that want to make business. Online shopping trends are now becoming well known day by dayThe name such as Zalora.com and Lazada.com is increasingly popular to online shoppe. The online retail market also is rose up year by year.

This web stores business is also known as e-commerce. If you notice it, in every successful web stores business there will be website that perfects their business. By creating an online store, it will reach out to more customers, who will be able to check out the goods on online catalogues. Let’s get to know to emerging technologies….

In this era of information explosion, information and communication technology (ICT) are becoming more important. Almost every time people use technology, it is because people can dominate and control almost everything in the fingertips. Country that does not prioritize in ICT will be the mainstream of development. ICT progress has brought many benefits to individuals, communities and nations. Now, the technology has emerges to its fullest potential. The advancement has revolutionized to innovation in various field of modern technology. These are some list of emerging technologies:

1) Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology can be described as big things from a tiny world. A basic definition: Nanotechnology is the engineering of functional systems at the molecular scale. This covers both current work and concepts that are more advanced (CRN,2008). Nanotechnology has started since the year of 1980’s, by K.Eric Dexler. At that time, he was talking about building machines on the scale of molecule, a few nanometers wide—motors, robot arms, and even whole computers, far smaller than a cell. Before we go further, lets first understand how small nanometer is; A nanometer (nm) is one-billionth of a meter, smaller than the wavelength of visible light and a hundred-thousandth the width of a human hair [source: Berkeley Lab]. As small as a nanometer is, it is still large compared to the atomic scale. Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Horst Stormer has claimed that nanoscale is more interesting than the atomic scale because the nanoscale is the first point where we can assemble something – it is not until we start putting atoms together that we can make anything useful. Nanotechnology is so new; no one is really sure what will come of it. Even so, predictions range from the ability to reproduce things like diamonds and food to the world being devoured by self-replicating nanorobots. If you want to have more news and information about nanotechnology, please go to http://www.nano.gov/ /please

2) Grid Computing

Have you ever heard about grid computing? Let’s see how it is function and benefits the world! At its most basic level, grid computing is a computer network in which each computer's resources are shared with every other computer in the system. How is Grid different from other technologies such as Clusters/P2P/ASP? The key distinction between clusters and grids is mainly lie in the way resources are managed. In case of clusters, the resource allocation is performed by a centralized resource manager and all nodes cooperatively work together as a single unified resource. In case of Grids, each node has its own resource manager and don't aim for providing a single system view. The grid computing concept isn't a new one. It's a special kind of distributed computing. In distributed computing, different computers within the same network share one or more resources. To make this understanding more fun, grid computing could be illustrated by this simple story:

“You and couple of friends is going to sit for examination, all of you decided to form a study group in order to share the resources, you are master in mathematics and you going to share the knowledge with the others. The other friends offer to share some programming knowledge. During the group study, the three of you share your knowledge and skills to make the study more efficient. If you had made the study on your own, you would need more time to assemble the resources you would need and you probably would have had to work a lot harder”.

3) Quantum Computing

The definition of quantum computing is complicated as its name. Heard people talking about quantum computing, but not really sure you understand what they mean? Here I have some basic information what is quantum computing about. The question here will we ever have the amount of computing power we need or want? One day it will not be enough for us, if we look through the large amounts of data generated by scientific research, the proliferation of personal computers or the emergence of the Internet, which have only fueled our need for more, more and more computing power. If, as Moore's Law states, the number of transistors on a microprocessor continues to double every 18 months, the year 2020 or 2030 will find the circuits on a microprocessor measured on an atomic scale. And the logical next step will be to create quantum computers, which will harness the power of atoms and molecules to perform memory and processing tasks (Bonsor, K. & Strickland, J. 2013).

A wise man once said that investigators are eagerly describing what the more sophisticated machines will be like if they can ever be constructed is quantum computation. Perhaps the most surprising thing about quantum computing is that it was so slow to get started. Physicists have known since the 1920s that the world of subatomic particles is a realm apart, but it took computer scientists another half-century to begin wondering whether quantum effects might be harnessed for computation. The answer was far from obvious (Grover L.K, 1999).   Honestly I open 5-6 tabs to find quantum computing information, most of them delivered they information in a very complicated way, but finally I found one article that help me to understand it, so for more details please click on this link, to go to the article.

4) Semantic Web

Now, let’s turn our attention to the next emerging technology called Semantic Web. According to semanticweb.org the semantic web is the extension of the World Wide Web that enables people to share content beyond the boundaries of applications and websites. The Semantic Web proposes to help computers "read" and use the Web. The big idea is pretty simple -- metadata added to Web pages can make the existing World Wide Web machine readable. This won't bestow artificial intelligence or make computers self-aware, but it will give machines tools to find, exchange and, to a limited extent, interpret information.

Avoiding complexity is not an option!

For CEOs and their organizations, avoiding complexity is not an option — the choice comes in how they respond to it. Will they allow complexity to become a stifling force that slows responsiveness, overwhelms employees and customers, or threatens profits?  -2010 IBM Global Study

Organization environment is one of a source that would increase and reduce complexity. From my opinion, there is no way to run from complexity in certain organization. Keep in mind that journey to success is always under construction. CEOs need to put strong will to lead his/her organization in a right path on overcome complexity. Complexity exist in many ways even organizational, technical and societal; but the key point here on how organization will not allow the complexity overwhelm their business.

I like the idea of IBM Global study about how CEOs can capitalize on complexity. The idea is to capitalize on complexity; CEOs need to put response in three criteria’s:

I believe that every CEOs have different ways on how to lead their organization. I would like to share one quote on how leadership should work:

"Control is not leadership; management is not leadership; leadership is leadership. If you seek to lead, invest at least 50% of your time in leading yourself—your own purpose, ethics, principles, motivation, conduct. Invest at least 20% leading those with authority over you and 15% leading your peers".

— Dee Hock
Founder and CEO Emeritus, Visa

All in all, the organizational environment and the impact this has on complexity is an important consideration. Consideration need to be taken by the organizational unit. Work as a team and never allow complexity become the boundary of your business goals.

Usability in Software Design

Hello all. Today I would to share with you some interesting information about usability in software design. From the words itself “usability”, that is mean we putting the usability to work. We focus more on the user rather than the system; user centric, rather than data centric.

Usability is one of the stages of user centered development. During the development stages, we should examine several questions for this context.

Is this function will be usable to the user? /hmm

What will be the degree of usability of this function can work on? /hmm

This definition related with user centered design by looking through the user perspective and point of view. We involve user during the design process by carrying out early testing and evaluation with users and the design that take places iteratively.

As example, student identity card. What will be the degree of usability to the students? Before they university release it, the responsible department should conduct a pre-test in which the students work and interact with the product interface and share their views and concerns with the designers and developers.

Now I would like to drag your attention to why there is a need for user centered design in software or web application?

Who wants to deal with such complicated web application? Please raise your hands. From my point of view, human beings have the tendency to works on simple things that would make life easier. In order to attract user attention for the software and web application, the developers and designers should be more concern on user centered design aspects.

I heart Pixlr..........

Do you interested in photo editing? Owh I do. I use Pixlr.com for the great effects on my photographs. Last week I learned many things about Pervasive Themes in IT, and some of them are User Centered Design. And here we go, in my personal view, the application system which has the best user centeredness is Pixlr.com /wahaha

Why I say so?

Previously I used number of online photo editor, but once I found Pixlr, it caught my heart and I fell in love with it. Pixlr is designed for the user in completing their task in photo editing. If you a first timer and interested in photo edit, feel free to use this application because it is provides adequate navigation mechanism.

The interface is clean and the options are there when you need them. The options to edit, share, save, so forth, using Pixlr’s tools, are immediately provided. It is reduce unnecessary mental effort by the user. Trust me, it will not give you tense but yet give you satisfaction for the great effect on your photographs.

And one more thing! From the design perspective, this tool is brilliant. It anticipates and reacts to needs. That’s mean, its present information clearly by using simple and natural dialogue.  Among many of online image editor, I really agree that Pixlr has the great key principle in user centered design :D

This is what Pixlr give me<3/hmm
